Another successful tea party?  Check!

Like I mentioned in a previous post, me and Janelle were planning to throw our 3rd semi-annual tea party.  But this time, we required something other than costumes and food..  each guest had to bring supplies/food to donate to Japan.  It was only fitting, no?  And Janelle came up with “Hana Emi” — it means a flower in bloom.

After weeks of ideas and planning, we finally started prepping the night before the party.  Down to the set-up schedule, the baking/cooking of the food, and the MIA Annual Easter Basket Exchange (see last year’s exchange here).  I think me and Janelle feel a bit more confident with each tea party we throw so we were absolutely ready (with the help of Michelle) way before guests started to arrive.   And we’re already thinking about our next one!

First, our Easter Basket Exchange!

They gave the best baskets! I love my new cupcake flip flops + bamboo diffuser!

Okay, onto the tea party!

The menu:
- Sweet Sushi
- Baked Crab Rangoon
- Cucumber Salad
- Lychee Shots
- Assorted Pastillas
- Milkita (my fave Japanese candy)
- Tea (iced or hot)
- White Rice (because it’s not totally Asian without it!)

Recipes to follow in the next post! ;)

I’m so happy our tea party was a success. Even though it was a small group, I think everyone had fun! We are getting better each time. :) I seriously can’t wait til the next one! And I promise to play a more proactive role. I can’t thank you enough for taking the reins (again) and just telling me what to do! Hehehe.
