Happy HallowTEAn Party!

November 1, 2010

Like my shirt?  I got it at the Woot! last year.

After the success of our last tea party, Janelle and I decided to make this tea party thing (totally unrelated the Tea Party movement by the way, ha!) a bi-annual event.  We asked our guests to be in costume and to leave the cooking/baking to us.  Everyone looked freaking awesome and as hostesses, I think we definitely deserve some trophies or something!  Hehe.  Anyway, check to see the plethora of “ghouls” in costumes after the jump!

So, what did we put on our menu?  Well, we elected to make cupcakes, have a candy bar, and I would make another sweet dish while she would think of something savory to make.  But I remember seeing this in my Google Reader and thought it would be perfect for our soiree and she agreed!

Stole this photo from Noella!  :)

For my cupcake, I decided to make Martha Stewart’s Blondie Cupcake recipe.
I’ve made them before and they are always a hit!

For my 2nd sweet dish, I made “bloody” rice krispy treats drizzled with chocolate.
Drizzling is a messy process. Be prepared.

Prepping for the owl cupcakes.  Janelle made Martha’s One-Bowl Chocolate Cupcakes.

(I’m posting the recipes she posted on her website on purpose—if you haven’t already picked it up, buy her Cupcakes book! Seriously, the recipes they post online are not exactly the same in her book. *insert evil laugh here*)

Michelle works on our “cup of tea” pumpkin..

Oooh, ahhh!

Okay, back to the cupcakes.. cute, right? :)

Spidercakes with buttercream frosting!

Janelle’s grilled cheese sammiches with different kinds of cheeses!

And now… time for costumes!

Gonzales’ sisters — a genie & a flapper!

Aly & Katrina C. — a cookie and a carton of mik!

Sheeryl & Kat — Asian school girl & White Rabbit!

Noella & Michelle — a geisha & Sarah from the TV Show, Chuck!

Everyone drinks tea to keep warm!  (Btw, isn’t Snow White adorable?!)

Time for charades!  Go Sheila!
(Everyone had to act out a scary movie.)

Me, Alexis & Vanessa — Hit Girl, a pirate & a mummy!

All of a sudden, it’s dark out.. :)

Skurry!

Go genie!  Haha.

Get in character!  Haha.

LOVELOVELOVELOVE! You captured a lot of great moments. I especially love the candid picture of the group when it got dark outside and the one of Snow White sipping a cup of steaming tea! :) We are the best tea party hostesses ever! On to the next one!
